King Cake
Inspiration: Carnival time in South Louisiana! Each year on Twelfth Night (January 6), the Christmas season ends and the party begins - Mardi Gras! It culminates on Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, the start of the solemn season of Lent. Mardi Gras is celebrated with lively parties and music, parades, plastic beads, and of course King Cake, a ring-shaped brioche dough and cinnamon pastry, covered with icing, and topped with purple, green and gold sugar, the colors of Mardi Gras. This limited edition Curioscenties candle smells just like the original (we are locals, but we asked some other locals - they agree!) and is housed in an iridescent jar that has all the colors of the Mardi Gras. Get you some... and laissez les bons temps rouler!
